Hyde & Dukinfield Estate Agents
I am Liam Mellon, your local EweMove personal agent and Branch Director for Hyde and Dukinfield. My wife and I, with our two young daughters have lived all of our lives in the Hyde and Dukinfield area. I know this area, and the surrounding regions like the back of my hand. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a local expert! I always say a home is different to a house; it’s where you want to be after everything else in your life. For example, even after a wonderful holiday as a family, we all look forward to getting home! You can't put a price on the feeling of living in your dream home.
About Hyde & Dukinfield
My favourite thing about living in Hyde and Dukinfield? Well, I am a keen runner so I get to see parts of it on foot that I otherwise would not see. I am really fortunate so have so many wonderful routes to choose from, especially when I am training for the ’Tour of Tameside’; a 4 day running series that takes place around Hyde and Dukinfield each June. A bit of history for you history buffs out there - Hyde and Dukinfield grew quickly during the Industrial Revolution which brought manufacturing and communities to the region. Although much of the infrastructure of this has since gone, what remains is a delicate reminder of how important this area was for Britain. Hyde is set in rural surroundings with easy access to the motorway network and to Manchester. It is also served well with rail and bus services, making it a perfect place to commute from and to. You are never too far away from the start of a footpath to take you up onto Werneth Low Country Park, punctuated with the fabulous ‘Hare and Hounds’ Pub Restaurant which has to have one of the best views of any place you will visit. Dukinfield is just 12 miles from Manchester and is set against rolling hills and great vista views towards Manchester to the West and Sheffield to the East. It was home to the famous artist LS Lowry from 1948 until 1976. A bronze statue of him seated on a bench is located next to the junction of Hyde Road and Stalybridge Road. See if you can find it!
